LDAP and RedHat Directory Server procedure similar to Windows Active Directory?

Hi all

I have one environment mostly composed of RedHat Servers which have Directory Server in place synchronized with windows Active Directory in another environment.
Therefore my goal is to configure Splunk LDAP with RedHat Directory Servers.

Have anyone configured this before and if yes is the procedure similar to the one described in splunk documentation? (http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Admin/SetupuserauthenticationwithLDAP)

Have you faced any problems or have you any suggestions before engaging on this task?
