Is it possible to display the newest values and omit the oldest values in a dashboard timechart?

When displaying long time series, over 1000 values, splunk I get a these results are truncated splunk warning.

I am fine with displaying only 1000 values, but by default, splunk displays the 1000 oldest values.

Is it possible to do the opposite, i.e., display the newest values and omit the older ones?

Whenever I run into this ceiling, I have to split up the timechart into larger buckets using span.
For instance, I span hours by minute; days by hours, weeks by days, and months by week.

..earliest=-1h |timechart span=1m count by host
..earliest=-1d|timechart span=1h count by host
..earliest=-1w|timechart span=1d count by host
..earliest=-30d|timechart span=1w count by host

What do you mean when you say "omits the newest values"? May be include some sample output to support that..

I don't see any direct way of achieving the same. Once thing you can do is like this (Splunk shows 999 events and shows truncation when number of points per series is 1000 or more).
