As the year’s end rapidly approaches, the Splunk Community team finds ourselves reflecting on what a banner year it’s been around here, and we have you all to thank! We are so grateful for and amazed by your dedication to helping and connecting with one another, and the amount of contributions and solutions you provide are truly awe-inspiring!
Speaking of which, we thought you might be interested in seeing exactly how incredible your contributions this year have been, so without further adieu, let’s get into the numbers from this past year in the Splunk Community!
Splunk Answers:
In Splunk Answers this year, you all racked up some incredible stats! You all started 9,443 topics, with 26,099 replies and 2,621 accepted solutions. That’s a total of 35,542 forum posts! 8,685 Karma points were given and we welcomed 7,582 new members to the Splunk Answers community!
Special thanks to our 41 Splunk Answers moderators, as well as our top Splunk Answers contributors from the past year: richgalloway, gcusello, ITWhisperer, PickleRick, and yuanliu!
User Groups:
The User Groups program flourished this year, with 226 events held in 74 cities across the globe! Over 3,970 people attended events (from 33 countries!), and we welcomed 4,351 new members!
SplunkTrust:
When it comes to our most active, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable contributors — the SplunkTrust — we were so excited to welcome 14 new folks to their ranks this year! That’s along with 57 returning members (and not even counting all the incredible folks at Splunk making up the Honorary SplunkTrust.) Interested in joining? Keep an eye out for the 2024 SplunkTrust nomination period opening soon!
Slack:
In addition to all the activity happening on the Splunk Community platform, we also had 4,142 new folks join us over on the Splunk Community Slack! There, you all posted more than 469,530 times (!!!), asking and answering questions, welcoming folks, and just being generally awesome. Thank you all!

Finally, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention at least a few of the notable moments that occurred this past year! Just a few of the highlights include:
- Issuing the 2023 Career Impact Report (data gathered all thanks to your insights and contributions!)
- Implementing a new navigation bar and Splunkbase integration
- Celebrating our incredible customers (yep, that’s you!) on CX Day
- Launching the Great Resilience Quest and new Practitioner Resources
- And, of course, engaging with and learning from you all at .conf23 in Las Vegas!
