Hi,
Since a few months (and maybe more), i see permanently new polluting Spams in Splunk answers, this is quite annoying and harms Splunk community, in my opinion.
Is there anyway Splunk Base admins could get of these f... polluting spams ?
For Splunk Base admins 🙂
hi everyone,
we're very much aware of the spam problem, and i apologize for the disruption. we're in the middle of user acceptance testing to migrate to a newer version of the Answers platform so that we can have better tools to filter it--so you will see a change soon! the current platform does not allow us to filter very well at all. trust me, it is frustrating for us as well 🙂
there are a number of Answers users who have accumulated enough karma points to be able to suspend and block spam accounts, they have been doing a fantastic job in helping us manage this problem around the clock. thank you very much, spam hammers!
thank you for your patience.

Just smashed 2 spammers within the last 20 minutes 🙂 I'm a moderator on Answers 9am - 5/6pm PST on weekdays and always catch ones that have just posted a "question" usually within 5 minutes or less. This prevents their post from making it to our Answers Twitter feed which has a 30 minute delay. The spammers I usually don't notice are ones that only post comments/answers on other legitimate users' posts. So if anyone finds a suspicious profile, please send them my way ;D

I would guess that normally, spam messages are deleted within the hour, and usually a lot faster than that. However, this time of year, quite a few people are off on vacation, so it will perhaps take a little longer.
/K
I hope I never have to see another post for "Vashikaran specialist baba"!
Thank you for your answer, i was curious as we see such messages for a long time ago now
Or perhaps reporting something as spam removes it from the view of Splunk answers until a moderator approves or denies it's validity
May be some filter on content? (don't let them submit answer if it contains contains spam related keywords).
Yes thats true. One thing that i have noticed is, this spam count is more during the hours 9:00 AM IST to 8:00 or 10:00 PM IST. IST is UTC + 5:30. During other times it is more or less zero
