Palo Alto Networks App for Splunk: How is the app maintained and supported?

The app page says the app is community supported, but the information at the readthedocs.org page says "Palo Alto Networks and Splunk have partnered..."

How is the app maintained and supported? Community-only or are PA and/or Splunk involved?

Hey @mikesangray - the app itself is supported by PAN in the sense that the codebase is owned by PAN. Both Splunk and PAN are involved, but the main avenue for answering questions is via this forum. The readthedocs page is also authored by PAN with input from Splunkers such as myself. Hopefully that helps clarify it a bit. That said, what's the reason behind the post/question?

I work at Palo Alto Networks and I'm the lead developer of the PAN App for Splunk. I just want to echo what Kyle said above. His team at Splunk and my team at Palo Alto Networks work very closely to ensure the success of the App. The App is developed at Palo Alto Networks, but we collaborate on new features and releases of the App and the new Add-on, and provide support via Splunk Answers. I want to make sure the app is supported/maintained by PAN and/or Splunk and not just "community". With PAN being an enterprise firewall regular updates/releases and support is important. I need to make sure that support will continue regardless of what person authored the app. Just want to make sure PAN and Splunk are behind this app and will continue to be so going forward.
