How many connection retries does a deployment client attempt before surrending completely?

When a deployment client is unable to connect to a deployment server, how many times does it retry before it gives up completely? We observe clients retrying on the phoneHomeIntervalInSecs interval, but otherwise there is no indication in deploymentclient.conf.spec on how many times it will retry. Maybe it never gives up?
