Got a request to install the Splunk app for Microsoft exchange on our public folder servers...is there something I need to install on it?

Everything else about the application is set up, and is pretty awesome.

Thanks Brian

One Answer:

The Public Folder servers are just mailbox stores, so install the appropriate fwd_exchangeXXXX_store app on the Universal Forwarder for the mailbox store.

Update to this. The Public Folders are treated differently than Mailbox Folders, and I will be adjusting the app in the next release to take care of this.

Any chance this was done with this latest release?

Yes - the TA for the MailboxStore includes a script that monitors the public folders, and there is a dashboard under the Operations section specifically for Public folders.
