Hey Splunkteam,

i was just wondering how good the support is for getting data/logs out of the different storage devices like Netapp Filers and EMC Clarion/DMX or VMAX. i do not see an Apps so far for any specific Storage reports (showing IOPS, service times) ...

would be cool to see server AND storage logs correlated in one tool ;-) Regards, Eike

Most of those storage devices have syslog output streams, which Splunk supports as a standard input (Network input). For advanced logging detail from the EMC devices, you need to run their connector/executable to pull out the low level details. Currently, there is no app that supports data pulling from EMC devices although Splunk can work with that data quite easily.

Our XenDesktop demo included data from the VMs all the way down to the Netapp. Indeed, it is quite useful across the stack.
