Deployment Server shuts forwarder's Splunkd down instead of restart?

I sent an update out to a Windows forwarder from a Linux Deployment Server and the forwarder gets the update, goes to restart, but only stops. Never starts again.

Has anyone seen this behavior?

Forwarder: 4.1.5 (85165) on Windows 2008 64bit
Indexer: 4.1.8 (96167) on SuSE 11.0
